Feeling a Little Blue

Noooo! Not that kinda blue.

Blue as in this:

I was in Target last week to get an ironing board cover. I really don't go to Target much but it is the only place I can get the ironing board cover I need.  I am a Walmart girl. (Love Target, just find Walmart prices better) At the end of one of the isles, I almost passed these up. But I think I heard them yell whisper  "Beverly, look again...we're blue. These babies jumped in my basket faster than you can say "blue canning jars.

While I'm on the subject (blue of course) I thought I'd show you my new straw dispenser. My friends, Linda, Ruth and I took a last minute day shopping trip to Long Beach to visit one of my other friends at her shop "Aunt Fanny's Emporium"  After we left there, and a few other stops, we went to Steinmart. My first time there. I found this. I had been thinking of ordering one on line. Perfect for my "blue" paper straws that another friend, Diane found for me.

Just another blue find. this cup was on the clearance table at Home Goods and I couldn't resist.

Okay, It's not blue, but this tray was another bargain at JoAnn's for just three bucks.
It had a nail coming out of a little piece of trim...Hey! I live with a carpenter, no problem.
Anyway it's going to get a fresh coat of white paint and yes...blue Pam Kitty fabric Mod Podged on the bottom. I just laid some fabric on the bottom to cover up some not so cute stuff.

And, where is all this "blue" going you might ask?  In my "little blue trailer", which I'm sure has been feeling rather neglected for a while.
We are planning on taking it on a little beach trip soon.  I'm thinking the jars will serve as glasses or maybe just to sit around with cute stuff in them. Hey, I could find sea shells for one of them.

I do love me some blue, and red and yellow and of course white...but mostly I looooove blue.
Do you have a favorite color? and do you, like me find that you not only use it around you but the same color is your go to color when it comes to clothes and accessories too?

Even though, today, I'm feeling a little "blue", in my world...

On My Cutting Table

Didn't get much sewing time in this weekend, but tomorrow is a different story.
Last week after Bernina club, Suzanne gave me a pattern and fabric for another model for Strawberry Patches
Cute British fabric and my favorite colors. I can't wait to cut into it in the morning.
For about the last month and 1/2, I have been sewing for a local couple that have a website where they sell mostly little boys accessories such as vests, shorts, bow and long ties, suspenders, diaper covers and newsboys hats. This is my assignment for this week. I will take some pictures when they are finished but you can go to the website and get an idea what I am doing. Four Tiny Cousins.
As for one of the reasons, I didn't have time to sew this weekend.
Not sure what this one's name is, but trust me Emmy knows.
There are about 30 of these little rascals roaming our yard.
As beautiful as she is and as much as we love having those farm fresh eggs, she and her sisters totally destroyed my garden. So I cleaned everything up.
For some reason they think under my patio table is their "potty", so I cleaned that up too.
Emmy holding Ella, one of the smaller hens the girls showed at the county fair 2 years ago.
She can catch and hold all of them. I call her the "Chicken Whisperer" because they let her catch them and hold them. They don't even put up a fight when she is carrying them around.

Well, I figured out, if I leave my phone plugged into the back of the computer, I don't have to move everything and crawl back there every time I want to do a post.
I can charge my phone while the computer is on.
See you can teach and "old dog" new tricks.

Wishing you all a good week.
Hope you have time to do something you love to do.
I know I will.

Because She Said Sew

I know, you think I dropped off the side of the earth. I'm still here. Hope a few of you check in once in a while and have missed me. I know I have missed all of you.

Okay, what got into me today that made me want to write a post.

I went to Bernina Club today at my favorite quilt store, Strawberry Patches.
The owner of the store,my good friend Suzanne, who is always looking out for my best interests, suggested  said I should post on my blog.
SEW...Because She Said Sew...
I'm baaaack!!

I know I've told you before, but will say it again. I LOVE Bernina Club.  It's a once a month get together of women who sew (not necessarily on a Bernina) and get a chance to review new products and techniques in the sewing/quilting world.  Then everyone shares what they have been working on.

This year, Suzanne has gone over the top to make us feel special. There are always good eats, favors and a very cute make and take.

Today on the tables when we arrived were these cute bags and favors.
She decorated the bags...very French...by stamping and embellishing. Sew cute, I didn't even want to open mine.

The favor was the cutest little macaroon (made out of wool). On each table there was a plate of the real things all pastel and yummy. Darn, I didn't get a picture of the edible ones. (Maybe because I couldn't figure out how to add them to my Weight Watchers program. LOL
Amazing!! Mine is blue.

I didn't notice until I got home, but even the paper grafetti has french words.
Oh my! The cleverness of my friend is never ending.

Inside the bag (oh how I hated to open that cute little thing) But it was suggested we open it from the bottom, so I finally carefully pulled it open.
Oh! Back to inside the bag.
The makings for a little sachet/pin cushion.

We got to use a pintucking foot to make the little tucks. Isn't is just sew cute?

At the end of the meeting there is always a drawing for $25.00 of Bernina Bucks (yes, 25.00 to spend at Strawberry Patches)
Another win for me!!
I didn't spend it today, but took them home to "think about it"

Thanks Suzanne for a wonderful morning and the encouragement to blog again.
If you would like to make a plate of those cute little macaroons (the no calorie kind) tomorrow there will be a tutorial at Notes from the Patch.

Well, it's good to be back. I have been extremely busy with kids stuff and sewing and just stuff.
The main problem is that I my usb port on the front of  my computer broke. To down load pictures from my phone (my only camera) I have to pull out everything under my sewing table to get to the back of my computer to plug in my phone. Crawling under there is not a fun or pretty sight, but worth it.
I have had tons of things I wanted to blog about. I will just have to make the sacrifice and crawl under the table more often.

As always in my world
